RAGE

There are lots of things that make me angry.  Most of them are to do with injustices.  I get very angry about a lot of right-wing political views, insensitivity and racism.  Whilst religious bigots make me seethe and morons cycling on the pavement (one recently caused me to have a nasty sprained ankle) leading to me to scream and shout, there is one thing above all else that will send me into paroxysms of rage and even cause me to shed blood.

Packaging.

  • When did it become illegal to be able to open a packet of pasta?
  • What idiot designed elastoplasts that cannot be extracted from their sheaths?
  • Who thought it a good idea to stick bits of foil underneath the caps on toothpaste, tomato ketchup and tubes of anchovy paste?

Maybe there is a case for some bottles having child-proof caps but in what universe is it necessary to make it practically impossible to open a remove a birthday card from the cellophane surrounding it?
